Open Positions
Customer Support Engineer, Tokyo
The Role:
You will manage on-site product support for our Tokyo-based customers. This role offers a fast-paced startup environment where you will take immediate ownership of complex technical deployments and accelerate your career in the wireless industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Deployment & Operations: Oversee the deployment, maintenance, and monitoring of AirHop products in customer local cloud networks.
System Management: Lead daily operational monitoring, status reporting, and AirHop solutions’ system configuration adjustments. Coordinate with program management regarding priorities, bug status, release dates, etc.
Technical Support: Triage operational issues and provide DevOps support for system updates in coordination with customers and RAN vendors.
Analytics & Automation: Design scripts for KPI/log data processing and analyze metrics to ensure peak product performance. Design and implement scripts that generate statistics, reports, and batch process KPI/log data.
Global Coordination: Partner with R&D and program management teams to execute lab/field testing and align on solution release priorities.
What you will bring:
– B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or an equivalent technical field.
– Proficiency in Python and Unix Shell is required.
– Hands-on experience with orchestration and virtualization (Kubernetes, Docker, OpenStack, or VMs).
– Strong written and verbal communication skills with a self-driven, independent work ethic.
– Experience with wireless networks or SON technology is a significant plus.

Senior Software Engineer (RAN Optimization Software)
The Role:
You will develop, integrate, debug, and maintain software for AirHop’s AI-powered wireless network automation and optimization solutions. You will enjoy the flexibility and convenience of a flexible hybrid work environment.
What you will do:
– Architect, develop and deploy the next-generation cloud-native Open RAN automation and optimization applications in Open RAN architecture.
– Participate in defining the architecture and implementation of AI/ML (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) algorithms.
– Perform functional and performance analyses on algorithms deployed in production networks.
– Work closely with AirHop’s Open RAN partners and customers.

Senior Software Engineer (RIC Integration Specialist)
The Role:
We are looking for a skilled and motivated Software Developer to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with SMO/RIC platform partners to understand their technical requirements and develop, test, and deploy software solutions tailored to their platforms. Your contributions will play a critical role in advancing our AI/ML-based solutions within the RAN ecosystem.
What you will do:
– Collaborate with SMO/RIC vendor partners to gather, analyze, and document technical requirements for deploying our solutions.
– Design, develop, and optimize software components to integrate our AI/ML-based applications on various SMO/RIC platforms.
– Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and validation to ensure reliable and efficient deployment.
– Maintain up-to-date knowledge of RIC standards, interfaces (e.g., R1, E2, A1), and related technologies.
– Provide technical support and troubleshooting during integration and deployment phases.
– Work closely with internal teams, including AI/ML engineers and product managers, to align development efforts with strategic goals.

Senior Systems AI/ML Engineer
The Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems AI/ML Engineer to join our team. You will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and scaling AI/ML solutions tailored to optimize complex 4G, 5G (and beyond) radio access networks. This role is ideal for an engineer with a passion for applying cutting-edge AI techniques to real-world telecommunications challenges.
What you will do:
– Develop new RAN automation and optimization algorithms for 5G NR and LTE systems.
– Develop simulations, test scenarios, and experiments to validate solutions in collaboration with the systems engineering team.
– Own the algorithm from system design and simulation through field testing and productdeployment in the customer cellular network.
– Analyze and process diverse data sources, including time-series and geospatial data, for feature engineering and model training..
– Stay abreast of emerging AI/ML trends, tools, and technologies, and evaluate theirapplicability to our domain.
– Work closely with the system engineering team.
– Work closely with software engineers on product architecture definition.
– Work closely with the test and integration team on test plans.

– Strong understanding of reinforcement learning, generative AI, and predictive modeling techniques.
– Familiarity with telecommunications systems, including RAN architecture, 4G/5G technologies, and SON principles.
– Excellent problem-solving skills and a proven ability to tackle complex, data-driven challenges.
